Designed by Wingates, the building is a relatively simple portal frame structure. Due to the low lying location of the building the ridge is twisted on the plan and drops toward the northern end creating an atypical and interesting roof scape. The roofing material continues down the sides of the building to a level close to the ground as if it were draped over the top of the bulk of the store below.

The resultant building is one of simple materials detailed well that is playful in form and remains light in appearance whilst still referencing the shed type typology that we might expect to associate with the building’s use.
