Anthony Harper – one of New Zealand’s longest established and most respected law firms – chose Wingates to design their new 1280sqm Workplace on Levels 34 and 35 of the ANZ Tower in Auckland’s CBD. With the aspiration to step away from the look of a traditional law firm, the new working environment has provided an opportunity for the firm to showcase internally and externally their renowned inclusive culture.
Against the backdrop of the magnificent views of Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour our design solution responds to the Anthony Harper values, ways of working and pride in their people – providing spaces to meet clients, formally & informally on Level 34 and creating a vibrant staff floor with sought after spaces throughout, on Level 35.
Level 35 is the staff floor for the Anthony Harper team. Working the challenge of the depth of the floorplate, Wingates found a unique way to ensure all spaces were sought after and reduce the hierarchy and preference of the window seats. The generous staff hub has quickly become a popular place for socialising taking a break and hosting staff gatherings.
This was a very enjoyable project to be involved in within a superb building, alongside a great client and the wider project team. Priding themselves on an inspiring collegiate culture and being an employer of choice, this relocation was regarded as a crucial next step in Anthony Harper’s 150-year journey with an opportunity to invest in their vision for the future. The result has been an exciting free flowing workplace which provides an engaging environment for a diverse group of talented professionals to continue delivering their best work.
